Purchasing Specialist in El Paso, Texas at University Medical Center of El Paso

Job Description:

Coordinates the purchasing of all the pharmaceuticals and special supply items for the Outpatient Pharmacies. Establishes PAR levels for the perpetual inventory systems and maintains databases on the Outpatient Pharmacies computer systems. Resolves manufacture out of stocks placing direct orders where appropriate.

Analyzes data for the Associate Director of Pharmacy. Completes cyclic inventories in coordination with Fiscal Services in each Outpatient Pharmacy on a monthly basis. Reviews and updates the Outpatient Pharmacies databases on a routine basis.

Required Skills:

1. Ability to type 30 wpm.
2. Effective oral and written communication skills.
3. Knowledge of and ability to use computer applications.
4. Advanced Pharmacy Technician knowledge of pharmacy terminology and procedures.

Required Experience:

A. Work Experience:
Two years Pharmacy Technician experience.

B. License/Registration/Certification:
Technician Registration by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

C. Education and Training:
High School graduate or equivalent.
