The Senior Software Engineer II - Agentic Intelligence will lead the development of advanced AI agent systems, taking ideas from early prototypes through reliable production implementations. This role requires technical ownership, strong product judgment, and the ability to build innovative solutions that create meaningful value for engineering teams.
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade AI agents capable of investigating, reasoning, and acting on live observability data.
- Build trustworthy agent experiences that support engineers during high-pressure situations, including incident investigation and system troubleshooting.
- Own the complete development lifecycle of agent-focused projects, from initial concepts and prototypes to scalable production systems.
- Create new agent capabilities using high-cardinality data and advanced reasoning workflows that enable unique developer experiences.
- Extend intelligent platform features, including agent surfaces, memory capabilities, workflow improvements, and performance enhancements.
- Develop and maintain evaluation frameworks to measure agent quality, reliability, and effectiveness over time.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and define future AI capabilities.
- Apply strong technical judgment to distinguish valuable AI applications from short-term trends and translate ideas into working solutions.
- Contribute to full-stack engineering efforts where needed to deliver complete product experiences.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with deep knowledge of AI agents, modern development practices, and the ability to independently deliver complex systems. They should combine strong technical expertise with product intuition and a passion for building tools that improve developer productivity.
- Proven experience building and shipping production-grade LLM-based systems or AI-powered applications.
- Strong understanding of AI agent architectures, limitations, evaluation methods, and approaches for building reliable agent workflows.
- Ability to take projects from early prototypes to maintainable, scalable production solutions.
- Experience designing systems that use complex data sources to enable intelligent reasoning and automation.
- Strong software engineering skills with experience building high-quality applications and services.
- Product-oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, define solutions, and validate ideas through implementation.
- Ability to work independently with ownership, accountability, and strong decision-making skills.
- Experience with observability platforms, developer tools, or infrastructure-focused products is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with agent tooling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, and prompt engineering is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
- Competitive base salary range of approximately $183,340 – $206,000 USD, based on experience and level.
