POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records for assigned projects
during construction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Assistance in preparing monthly AIA/G702 & G703
- Review and process vendor invoices and subcontractor AIA billings
- Preparation of funding request packages to be submitted to municipalities, banks or
- partners
- Perform monthly bank statement reconciliations and general ledger entries
- Meet required deadlines for timely financial reporting
- Ensure that a project's finances are tracked accurately and rigorously
- Assist with tax return and cost certification preparation
- Manage Subcontractor contracts and compliances
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Undergraduate degree required in accounting
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting
- Experience with preparing and reviewing construction jobs
- Experience in Accounts Payable, Job Cost and GL reconciliation
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated desire to grow with a growing company
- Ambitious individual for this very fun, flexible working environment
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments
- Must be a proficient communicator and listener
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Excellent quantitative analysis and financial model skills (using Excel) are required
- Understanding of GAAP accounting
- Multi-Family or Low-Income Housing Tax Credit knowledge desired
- Jonas Premier experience preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office software programs necessary
- Ability and willingness to effectively use other job-related technology tools
