This role offers the opportunity to shape meaningful relationships between a leading technology organization and the communities where major infrastructure projects are developed.
You will serve as a trusted local representative, helping build transparency, collaboration, and long-term partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
The position sits at the intersection of community affairs, communications, infrastructure development, and public engagement.
You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure community priorities are understood and integrated into strategic initiatives.
This role requires strong relationship-building skills, public communication expertise, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
You will help establish scalable engagement practices that strengthen trust and support successful projects across multiple locations.
The Community Engagement Lead will be responsible for developing and managing community relationships while supporting successful infrastructure initiatives through proactive communication, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local leaders, community organizations, nonprofit groups, government representatives, and residents.
- Develop and execute comprehensive community engagement strategies for current and future infrastructure development projects.
- Represent the organization at public meetings, community forums, hearings, and stakeholder events.
- Partner with economic development teams to support incentive commitments, community benefits, and local impact initiatives.
- Collaborate with environmental and sustainability teams to communicate responsible development practices and address community concerns.
- Create proactive communication plans that highlight project benefits, manage expectations, and reduce reputational risks.
- Monitor community sentiment, identify emerging concerns, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Advise executives on stakeholder perspectives, relationship opportunities, and potential challenges.
- Develop scalable community engagement frameworks, playbooks, and best practices that can be applied across multiple regions.
- Support cross-functional collaboration between government, community, operational, and corporate teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced community affairs or communications professional with a strong background in stakeholder engagement, public relations, and managing relationships around large-scale projects.
- 8+ years of experience in community affairs, public engagement, corporate communications, government relations, or related fields.
- Proven experience engaging diverse stakeholder groups for major infrastructure, technology, energy, or development projects.
- Strong public speaking, presentation, facilitation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to navigate sensitive political, social, and reputational issues with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Experience designing and implementing community benefit programs involving workforce development, education, infrastructure, or local partnerships.
- Strong understanding of community engagement strategies and methods for building trust with local stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across government, community, and corporate environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Strategic mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience creating scalable engagement frameworks or communication strategies is preferred.
- Competitive compensation range of $129,600 – $236,000 annually, with additional equity opportunities.
