Job Description

The DeAngelus Group, PLLC is a well-established, mid-size law firm with locations in Clifton Park, Schenectady and Saratoga, NY with additional offices in Florida. Our primary practice groups offer legal services in real estate transactions, title, estate planning and administration, and business formation.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Title Paralegal supports the post-closing and administrative functions of the title department. This highly task-driven position requires strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and follow-through. The role is responsible for recording title documents, completing post-closing title tasks, handling original documents, assisting with tax payments and escrows, and providing administrative support to the Title Manager. Previous real estate or title experience is a plus but is not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and submit deeds, mortgages, and other title documents for recording with the appropriate county or recording office.
  • Track recordings and ensure recorded documents are received, reviewed, and properly saved to the file.
  • Complete post-closing title tasks and assist with closing out completed title matters.
  • Organize, prepare, and mail original documents to clients, lenders, attorneys, and other appropriate parties.
  • Assist with real estate tax payments and related documentation.
  • Assist with the tracking, processing, and reconciliation of escrow matters.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical files.
  • Monitor assigned tasks and deadlines to ensure work is completed accurately and timely.
  • Assist the Title Manager with administrative duties, title projects, and department needs.
  • Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, title staff, county offices, and other parties as necessary.
  • Perform additional title and administrative duties as assigned.

  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous administrative or office experience preferred
  • Previous real estate, title, legal, or law firm experience is a plus, but not required
  • Willingness and ability to learn title and real estate processes

    COMPENSATION

    This is an hourly position. The hourly rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and relevant skills.
