Housekeeper in St. Louis, Missouri at Bellerive Country Club

Position Summary: The Housekeeper of Bellerive Country Club (“Bellerive”) performs regular housekeeping duties, including cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of the Clubhouse as directed. Performs deep cleaning as needed. Changes and cleans linen in Member rooms. Cleans and sanitizes restrooms. Assists with laundry when needed.

Core Four Competencies:

• Maintains the daily appearance of Bellerive’s Clubhouse and adjoining properties.
• Cleans designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, offices, banquet, meeting, and conference rooms.
• Moves furniture and sets up rooms for daily events, general cleaning, maintenance, and associated tasks.
• Reports on maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities:

• Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean and stock restrooms.
• Dust and polish fixtures.
• Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Assist Members and guests when necessary.
• Properly clean upholstered furniture.
• Notify management of necessary repairs.
• Other appropriate duties as assigned by the Director of Clubhouse Operations or other members of Bellerive’s leadership team.

• Must have the ability to adhere to Bellerive uniform standards.
• Must have the ability to balance multiple projects and have strong project and time management skills. Must possess high attention to detail.
• Must display an aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take direction, and exercise good judgment.
• Must have the authority to reason and apply common sense understanding to situations encountered.
• Must have a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills to communicate and work well with Team Members at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Must use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate fluent English; compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.
• Ability to simultaneously process routine daily functions, resolve sensitive issues, and complete complex assignments utilizing above-average critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
• The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee for them to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday and having the ability to transport twenty-five (25) pounds.

Qualifications / Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience required.
• Prior work experience in a private club atmosphere is preferred.
