Position Details:
The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and sustainment of the organization’s physical security program at the corporate headquarters and across geographically dispersed remote sites engaged in munitions manufacturing. This role helps protect personnel, facilities, critical assets, controlled materials, and sensitive operations through the application of physical security principles, regulatory compliance, risk management, and site security standards.
The Physical Security Specialist works closely with site leadership, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Operations, Industrial Security, Information Security, Facilities, and Compliance personnel to ensure that security measures are effective, standardized where appropriate, and aligned with corporate policies, contractual obligations, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
• Support the administration of the corporate physical security program for headquarters and remote manufacturing and testing locations.
• Assist with the development and implementation of physical security policies, procedures, standards, and site-specific security plans.
• Conduct physical security assessments, surveys, inspections, and vulnerability reviews for corporate and remote sites.
• Identify risks to personnel, facilities, explosive-related operations, critical infrastructure, and sensitive assets, and recommend appropriate mitigating controls.
• Support access control program administration, including badging, visitor management, key and lock control, and restricted area controls.
• Review and help maintain security measures such as barriers, fencing, lighting, CCTV, intrusion detection systems, alarm response procedures, and guard force support requirements.
• Coordinate with Facilities, Operations, and project teams on construction, renovation, and infrastructure changes to ensure security requirements are incorporated into site design and implementation.
• Support protection planning for high-risk or regulated areas, including locations involving munitions manufacturing, hazardous materials, controlled items, or sensitive production processes.
• Assist in the development of site emergency response, incident reporting, and security escalation procedures in coordination with EHS and business continuity stakeholders.
• Support investigations into physical security incidents, access control violations, theft, loss, vandalism, suspicious activity, and other security concerns.
• Track corrective actions resulting from audits, inspections, incident reviews, and internal assessments.
• Maintain physical security records, site diagrams, equipment inventories, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with remote site points of contact to promote consistent execution of physical security requirements across the enterprise.
• Support vendor and contractor security reviews related to security systems, installations, maintenance, and service support.
• Provide physical security awareness training and guidance to employees and site security representatives.
• Monitor compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, contractual requirements, and industry security practices.
• Travel to remote manufacturing and operational locations to conduct assessments, support projects, and validate implementation of security controls.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Homeland Security, Industrial Security, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in physical security, industrial security, corporate security, military security, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Experience supporting multi-site physical security operations, programs, or compliance efforts.
• Knowledge of physical security systems and controls, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, and key control.
• Experience conducting site security assessments, inspections, or vulnerability analyses
Because this role supports munitions manufacturing operations, the Physical Security Specialist must be capable of operating in a highly regulated, safety-sensitive environment and maintaining a strong focus on asset protection, personnel safety, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting manufacturing, defense, aerospace, energetics, explosives, or munitions environments.
• Familiarity with security requirements applicable to defense contractors and regulated industrial environments.
• Knowledge of risk-based security design for facilities handling sensitive, hazardous, or controlled materials.
• Experience working with construction security, site hardening, or capital improvement projects.
• Familiarity with NISP, DCSA expectations, DoD environments, ATF requirements, or related industrial security frameworks.
• Professional certification such as PSP, CPP, ASP, or similar.
• Experience coordinating with guard forces, local law enforcement, emergency responders, or alarm monitoring providers.
• Working knowledge of incident management and security investigations
