Job Description
Zellerfeld is revolutionising the footwear industry with the world’s first 3D-printing technology for fully customizable shoes. Our goal is simple: printed shoes on every foot. We’re a passionate team of engineers, designers, and innovators, questioning the status quo and disrupting traditional manufacturing processes. Backed by founders, influencers, and celebrities who believe in our vision, we’re committed to making a lasting, positive impact—not just on the footwear industry, but on the world.
Zellerfeld is expanding its filament manufacturing operation in Austin and is looking for a Junior Manufacturing Engineer to support our production equipment and help develop the technical side of the operation as we grow.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone with a strong electrical and mechanical foundation who enjoys working directly with machines, solving technical problems and improving how things are done.
You do not need previous experience with filament extrusion or our specific equipment. Training will be provided. We are looking for someone who can grow together with the Austin operation and take on increasing responsibility as both the company and the role develop.
What you will do- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment
- Support maintenance, repairs and technical problem solving
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement improvements
- Support the installation, commissioning, optimization and modification of production equipment and tooling
- Support technical infrastructure and improvement projects involving electrical systems, cooling, compressed air, extraction and other production utilities
- Help develop standards, work instructions and technical documentation
- Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical understanding
- Experience troubleshooting machines or technical equipment
- Experience or familiarity with industrial electrical systems, control panels, sensors, motors and electrical measurement/troubleshooting is strongly preferred
- Experience with 480V three-phase systems is a plus
- Practical and structured approach to solving problems
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and continuously improve how things are done
Relevant backgrounds could include mechatronics, manufacturing or mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, field service, automation or other hands-on technical roles.
A technical or engineering degree is helpful, but practical experience and technical ability are equally important. Experience with extrusion equipment or industrial manufacturing is a plus, but not required.
Grow with the roleThe opportunity is not only to support the technical challenges we have today, but to increasingly help shape how our equipment, infrastructure, processes and technical standards are developed — with growing responsibility for optimization, standardization and continuous manufacturing improvement.
Interested? If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you. Tell us a little about your technical background, the equipment you have worked with and what interests you about a hands-on manufacturing engineering role.
