Job Description

Work Schedule: 3rd shift; Sunday - Thursday 11:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Location: This is an in-person 3rd shift position in Newington, CT


SUMMARY

Ensure the efficient movement of mail trays and pallets to prevent disruption in operation. Maintain adequate supplies needed for each machine assigned, and support 5S / housekeeping by keeping work areas free of paper and other debris.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Remove mail trays from conveyors of assigned machine(s), place covers on trays if required per job specification, and stack trays on pallets, making sure the stacks are even and pallet is sturdy. Responsible for several machines in production, as assigned by supervisor.
    Once final tray is stacked on pallet, ensure all trays accounted for and place proper paperwork with pallet. Remove completed mail pallet and bring to mail processing staging area.
    Resupply materials for machines as needed – trays, covers, pallets, boxes etc. Obtain supplies from designated location and distribute supplies to all assigned machines. Place correct amount of supplies in designated Kanban areas at each machine.
    Keep aisles and area under and around the machines free of paper and other debris. Collect and break up empty cardboard boxes. Take trash barrels off the floor and empty them in the designated area. Bring all debris to the designated trash areas, making sure the materials are separated correctly for recycling purposes.
    Maintain production standards. Report any production, quality or safety problems to the supervisor immediately.
    Keep the work area neat and clean – sustain all 5S / housekeeping.
    Comply with company rules and regulations and procedures.
    Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
    Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
    Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
    Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
