Job Description

GRADUATE NURSE - TELEMETRY / MED SURG

  • JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
    • Job Summary:
      • The Graduate Nurse (GN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The GN applies the nursing process and performs delegated functions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and CHMC policies.
    • Education:
      • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (AA, BSN, or MSN).
    • Registration/Certification/Licensure:
      • Graduation from an accredited nursing program. After successful completion of the nursing board and receipt of licensure, GN will move to an RN role.
    • Experience:
      • New Graduate Nurse
    • Other Requirements:
      • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
      • BLS Required
      • Must be in pursuit of licensure as a Registered Nurse. Must take NCLEX exam with 90 days of hire.
      • May not continue practicing as a GN if NCLEX is failed.
