The Role
We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Collision Center Tech Helper to join our team and assist in the daily operations of our busy collision center. As a Tech Helper, you will support our skilled technicians with various tasks, ensuring that repairs are completed efficiently and with high quality. If you’re passionate about the automotive industry, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to the success of our collision center, we want you on our team!
What You'll Do
- Assist Technicians: Support collision repair technicians with tasks such as preparing vehicles for repairs, disassembling parts, and assisting with the repair process as needed.
- Vehicle Preparation: Remove damaged parts from vehicles, prepare vehicles for painting, and help with the reassembly process after repairs are completed.
- Parts Handling: Help in organizing and transporting parts to technicians, ensuring they have the right parts and tools to complete the repairs.
- Tool Management: Maintain and organize repair tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in working order and ready for use.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Assist in keeping the shop area clean and organized by washing vehicles, cleaning repair bays, and maintaining overall shop cleanliness.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with customers regarding the status of their repairs, estimates, and any additional services needed.
- Learning and Development: Learn the basics of collision repair and work closely with experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience in automotive repair.
Qualifications
- Experience
- Previous experience in an automotive or collision repair setting is a plus but not required.
- A strong interest in learning collision repair and working with skilled technicians
- Ability to perform physical labor and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and assist with tasks in a timely and efficient manner..
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of automotive tools and equipment is helpful but not required.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from technicians.
