Trading Operations Technical Lead

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Trading Operations Technical Lead in the United States.

This is a high-impact technical leadership role within trading operations, responsible for ensuring smooth, compliant, and high-performing end-to-end operational execution across complex physical and financial trading activities. You will act as a key bridge between front office traders, operational teams, and support functions, enabling seamless deal execution across multiple markets and regions. The role combines hands-on operational expertise with people leadership, focusing on capability building, coaching, and continuous improvement. You will contribute directly to risk management, process optimization, and digital transformation initiatives within a fast-paced trading environment. This position requires strong commercial awareness, technical trading operations knowledge, and the ability to influence stakeholders across functions. You will play a critical role in maintaining operational integrity while unlocking commercial value across trading activities.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and develop trading operations capability within your team by coaching operators, onboarding new joiners, and fostering continuous knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee day-to-day trading operations execution, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across complex and high-value trading activities.
  • Act as a key liaison between front office, trading operations, and support functions such as risk, tax, and compliance teams.
  • Drive operational readiness for new trading activity, ensuring seamless integration of new deals, strategies, and market initiatives.
  • Identify, report, and analyze operational risks and incidents using structured root cause analysis and corrective action frameworks.
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of trading operations processes, frameworks, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support forecasting, reporting, and performance optimization to maximize commercial value and operational effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in trading operations, with subject matter expertise across one or more markets of trading (physical or financial).
  • Solid understanding of trading lifecycle processes, including shipping, scheduling, inventory management, and trade compliance.
  • Proven ability to deliver commercial value through operational excellence and process optimization.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with front office teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks, solve complex operational problems, and drive structured decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience contributing to digital, data, or process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.

  • Competitive base salary ranging from approximately $123,200 to $228,800 annually, plus eligibility for bonus and incentive programs.
