Job Goal

To provide high-quality instructional support and care in a Christian learning environment that nurtures the spiritual, academic, and social growth of students. The paraprofessional will assist classroom teachers in delivering effective instruction, supervising students, modeling Christ-like behavior, and helping each student reach their God-given potential.

Responsibilities:

• Student Support
• Provide direct support to individuals and small groups of students as directed by the teacher.
• Reinforce academic skills and classroom lessons under teacher supervision.
• Assist students in following classroom routines, transitions, and expectations.
• Encourage positive behavior and model Christ-centered values.
• Classroom Management
• Help maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment.
• Support with supervision during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other school functions.
• Assist in implementing behavior guidance strategies consistently and positively.
• Instructional Assistance
• Prepare instructional materials under teacher direction (e.g., manipulatives, learning centers, bulletin boards).
• Support students with academic tasks (reading, writing, math activities) as assigned.
• Document student progress and report observations to the teacher.
• Professional Responsibilities
• Attend scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Uphold and promote the school’s mission, philosophy, and policies.
• Communicate respectfully with staff, parents, and students.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with school standards.
• Additional Duties
• Assist in supervision during arrival, dismissal, and other transition times.
• Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization.
• Support school events, chapel services, and community activities as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by the principal or administrative team in support of the school’s mission.

Required:

• A mature Christian commitment with a desire to serve in a faith-based school setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work positively with children, staff, and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support classroom instruction, follow lesson plans, and implement teacher guidance.

Pre-K 3/Pre-K 4 Specific Requirements (Florida):

• Must meet all education, training, and certification requirements as mandated by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) for early childhood personnel.
• Must complete DCF background screening and clearance (Level 2).
• Must complete required health and safety trainings

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom and school environment.
• Frequent bending, lifting, and movement to interact with students at eye-level.
• Ability to lift or support children when necessary (up to 25 lbs, depending on duties).
• Able to monitor children effectively in varied settings (indoor and outdoor).
