About the Role:

The Safety Analyst for 2nd and 3rd shifts plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing workplace safety standards during non-standard working hours across our United States operations. This position is responsible for analyzing safety data, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires close collaboration with shift teams, management, and safety committees to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The Safety Analyst will also conduct regular safety audits, incident investigations, and training sessions tailored to the unique challenges of the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Ultimately, this position ensures that all employees working during these shifts operate in a safe environment, minimizing risks and promoting health and well-being.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety analyst or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards applicable to workplace environments.
  • Proven ability to conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with employees and management across multiple shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
  • Experience working specifically with 2nd and 3rd shift operations and understanding their unique safety challenges.
  • Familiarity with safety management software and data analysis tools.
  • Training experience or certification in first aid, CPR, or emergency response.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead safety training sessions and promote a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics specific to 2nd and 3rd shifts to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of workplace incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures.
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections during assigned shifts to ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with shift supervisors and employees to develop and deliver targeted safety training and awareness programs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures tailored to the operational needs of non-day shifts.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and corrective actions, and prepare detailed reports for management review.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Safety Analyst to systematically evaluate safety data and identify risks unique to the 2nd and 3rd shifts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Strong analytical skills are used daily to interpret incident reports and safety metrics, guiding the development of effective corrective actions. Communication skills are essential for delivering training, collaborating with shift personnel, and reporting findings to management clearly and persuasively.
