Position Overview:
This role is responsible for underwriting, structuring, and executing complex credit transactions across lender finance and asset-based lending (ABL). The position partners closely with origination teams and engages with borrowers, direct lenders, asset managers, and syndication desks to support deal execution and market coverage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Evaluate and underwrite new business transactions, including:
- Lender finance / specialty finance transactions.
- Asset-based lending (ABL) facilities.
- Syndicated / club deals (agented and participant roles).
- Lead or support transaction structuring, including credit sizing, collateral analysis, covenant design, and risk mitigation.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency underwriting co-lending transactions involving private credit funds, direct lenders, and financial institutions.
- Prepare and deliver pre-screen memos, credit approval memos, and risk rating assessments.
- Build and maintain financial models, including sensitivity and downside analysis.
- Participate in agented transactions, including structuring, underwriting, and coordinating with lending participants.
- Develop relationships and actively engage with:
- Syndication desks at banks.
- Private credit funds and direct lenders.
- Asset / fund managers and specialty finance companies.
- Represent the firm at industry events and networking forums.
- Coordinate diligence activities with internal and external stakeholders:
- Borrowers, sponsors, and management teams
- Agent banks and lending partners.
- Legal counsel, auditors, and third-party advisors.
- Review legal documentation and ensure alignment with approved credit terms.
- Support end-to-end execution from underwriting through closing.
- Assist with amendments, waivers, and restructuring discussions for existing credits.
- Provide insights into industry trends, structured credit markets, and economic conditions impacting portfolio performance.
- Partner with Portfolio Management to onboard new clients and establish reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and portfolio data (e.g., Salesforce).
Support internal reporting, risk analysis, and portfolio analytics.

- Deals evaluated and executed (volume, quality, and timeliness);
Credit analysis quality and decision support;
Portfolio performance and risk management outcomes.
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Extensive knowledge of credit evaluation, financial, collateral, and cash flow analysis.
- Advanced skills in cash flow modeling for either corporate or project finance transactions.
- Knowledge of ABL and lender finance underwriting, as well as syndicated and club deal structuring.
- Advanced technical skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of multiple industry dynamics and how economic conditions impact credit quality and structure.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Significant experience 8–15+ years in commercial lending, including:
- Asset-based lending (ABL) and lender finance transactions.
- Syndicated / club deal underwriting and execution.
- Structured credit, specialty finance, or capital markets exposure.
- Proven experience working with private credit funds, asset managers, or direct lenders.

Working Hours:
- Hours may vary and will require some evening work; frequently requires working 40-45 hours/week depending on business needs
- Occasional travel related to transactions and attendance at industry seminars.
Physical Demands:
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
- Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.

The position is exempt and the salary will be between $122,500 - $147,000 with an opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience and education.
