This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Telecommunications and Radio Frequency Engineer based in the United States.
This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced telecommunications professional to support the evolution and operation of a nationwide public safety broadband network. In this role, you will apply deep expertise in radio frequency engineering, wireless networks, and telecommunications systems to analyze performance, validate technical solutions, and improve network reliability. You will collaborate with government stakeholders, technical teams, and industry partners to support the advancement of 4G LTE and 5G technologies. - Perform telecommunications engineering studies and technical analyses supporting the development, deployment, and operation of a nationwide public safety broadband network.
- Review wireless coverage maps, network documentation, performance metrics, and technical data to validate accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
- Analyze network coverage and capacity data using on-air reports, drive test results, geographic information systems, and industry-standard engineering tools.
- Conduct evaluations of 4G LTE and 5G network performance, deployment, adoption, and usage data to support technical decision-making.
- Provide subject matter expertise on Radio Access Networks (RAN), wireless network architecture, coverage planning, capacity planning, and network operations.
- Review and assess network equipment integration, service activation testing, and technical implementation results.
- Support the development of technical reports, white papers, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on telecommunications software platforms and analytical tools used for network planning and performance assessment.
- Support the creation and improvement of digital solutions using Microsoft platforms, including SharePoint, Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Teams integrations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including technical experts, vendors, project managers, and government partners to support successful program outcomes.
- Identify trends within network ecosystems and provide recommendations for process, performance, and operational improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 9+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering or a related field.
- Equivalent experience may be considered with an associate degree and 11 years of experience, a master’s degree and 7 years of experience, or a Ph.D. and 5 years of experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of wireless telecommunications networks, including 4G LTE and 5G Radio Access Networks (RAN), coverage and capacity planning, network operations, and management.
- Strong understanding of wireless infrastructure components, including cellular Remote Radio Units (RRU), Base Band Units (BBU), cell site routers, and related network equipment.
- Experience with telecommunications testing, analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as InfoVista Planet, MapInfo, ESRI ArcGIS, Tableau, Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, Power Apps, Accuver XCAL, and Rohde & Schwarz QualiPoc.
- Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards, including TIA grounding and bonding standards such as TIA-607-B.
- Strong technical documentation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to different audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Experience supporting federal agencies, public safety communications programs, or large-scale wireless initiatives is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credentials are a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a federal government suitability clearance.
- Competitive salary range of $115,500 - $180,525 annually.
