Position Overview
The Service Coordinator is responsible for managing the scheduling, dispatching, and coordination of field service technicians to support customer needs, focusing on high-quality service This role includes responsibility for coordinating service quotations, evaluating scheduling priorities, and making operational decisions that support customer responsiveness and business objectives. This role focuses on optimizing technician workloads based on skills, location, and availability to ensure maximum uptime for customers, adhering to Oilgear’s standards of efficiency.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performs field service quoting and scheduling.
- Independently manages and adjusts field service schedules and resource allocation to support operational efficiency, customer commitments, and business priorities.
- Serves as a primary customer contact to assess service needs, communicate operational timelines, coordinate service priorities, and manage customer expectations.
- Evaluates service requirements and determines appropriate technician assignments based on technical capability, customer urgency, geographic efficiency, and operational priorities.
- Manages service documentation, including service reports, time tracking, and part delivery scheduling.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and service teams to prioritize repairs, resolve scheduling conflicts, and support customer commitments.
- Resolve product performance issues through team-oriented problem solving and document according to the 8D process for root cause.
- Reviews and coordinates service quotations, customer communications, and operational documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business standards.
- Ensures all quotations, orders, and communications are accurate and up to standards.
- Exercises independent judgment in balancing customer demands, technician utilization, operational priorities, and service response timelines
- Supports operational decision-making related to service coordination, customer support activities, and field resource planning.
- Travel to customer or other Oilgear sites when needed (Up to 10%)
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in service coordination, scheduling, or logistics, particularly in a manufacturing or field service environment.
- Experience supporting scheduling decisions, or operational planning activities.
- Strong ability to manage multiple cases and shifting priorities while maintaining structure and focus
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree a plus
- Preference given to candidates with experience in hydraulic systems
- Understanding of hydraulic component or system design a plus
