Job Description

Summary/Objective

Provide Aircraft Systems/operational procedures instruction in aircraft/ classroom/ simulator and/or practical environments. Assist as Subject Matter Expert in development of curriculum for new type courses as required. May provide additional special services such as courseware review and other additional administrative duties such as publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF, scheduling, and other duties as maybe assigned, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Provide Loadmaster instruction inaircraft, classroom, and simulator or other platform environments.
  • Must be thoroughly proficient in evaluating, diagnosing, and critiquing student performance;identifyinglearning difficulties; recognizingobjectivesnotaccomplished; and prescribing and conducting remedial instruction.
  • Provide Crew Resource Management (CRM) training.
  • Assistas Subject Matter Expert in the development of curriculum for new type courses asrequired.
  • Act as Lesson Subject Matter Expert to review existing lessons and/or changes to existing lessons.
  • Provides suggestions to improve and update training policies and procedures.
  • Promotes a positive attitude towards learning and embracingnew technologiesand tasks.
  • Conducts ground training for other crewmembers to include diagnosis and remediation of student issues.
  • Assistsin project and development work as assigned.
  • Performs administrative duties such as scheduling, record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, quality assurance, safety, security, and maintenance of training programs and equipment.
  • Mustmaintainproficiencyin operation of essential Aircrew Training Devices.
  • Mustmaintainrequirements for CCAF currency.
  • Mustacquireandmaintainproficiencyin cargo load training,aircraftservicing, and operation ofaircraftsystems and equipment.
  • Must be physically able to enter simulator, experience simulatormotionand take cognizance of attendees’ safety when on board the simulator.
  • Must be able to stand up and conduct academic instruction in simulator and classrooms for up to eight hours each day andoperatethe console asrequiredto conduct training.
  • Aviation instruction is a highly specialized function that requires the instructor to have prioraircraftoperating experience and the ability to hold creditability and the attention of the customer attendees.
  • Perform observation flights biennially in MEP status aboardaircraft(asrequired).
  • Ensure compliance with AETCI 36-2909.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional literature. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, and colleagues.
  • Ability tocomprehendand calculate ratios and percentages, ability tocomprehendand apply principles of modern algebra.
  • Solid technology skills arerequired, including a deep understanding of multiple database technologies, enterprise systems integration, and software evaluation techniques. The ability to translate differing andpossibly conflictingcustomer needs and preferences into design requirements is essential as well as the ability to reverse engineer business processes and tools. The ability to analyze,identifyand solve a variety of problems is critical.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data,establishfacts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experienced and proficient in the use of standard Personal Computer productivity software tools including word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, project management, and databases.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience

Previously qualified as an Instructor Loadmaster with a minimum of 200 hours; or two years of C-5 Instructor Loadmaster experience. Will possess a minimum of an associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college as outlined in AFI 36-2304.

Work Environment, Programs, and Tools
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock, moving parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Experienced and proficient in the use of standard Personal Computer productivity software tools including word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, project management, and databases.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position will be on site at Dyess AFB, TX and will require adherence to the Government site hours of operation. This position is a full-time hourly non-exempt position, expected to work 40 hours a payroll period. This position may require evening/weekend work and work outside of the Government site hours of operations when Program support is needed. The ability to work overtime is required. The employee is occasionally required to work holidays, weekends and odd shifts.

Travel
Must be willing and able to travel. Domestic and International travel may be required.

Security Clearance
DoD Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.
