About the Role:
The Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in the supply chain and inventory management process by ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. This position is responsible for verifying the quantity and quality of goods received against purchase orders and shipping documents. The Receiving Clerk collaborates closely with staff and facilitates smooth operations. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to prevent errors and support efficient stock management. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall operational efficiency by ensuring that materials and products are properly accounted for and ready for distribution or storage.
This position will also require some front desk coverage.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software or databases.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required by the job.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving clerk or warehouse role.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Previous customer service experience.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and compliance with purchase orders.
- Verify and record quantities and descriptions of goods received using inventory management systems.
- Report and document any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate departments.
- Organize and label received items for proper storage or immediate distribution within the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate records of all received goods.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely unloading and storage of shipments.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all receiving activities.

The Receiving Clerk uses attention to detail daily to verify shipment contents against purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and preventing inventory errors.
