Job Summary:
The Regional Machine Technical SME is the primary technical authority for Sorter and Printer operations across all facilities. This role focuses on high-level troubleshooting, cross-site technical training, and the development of standardized maintenance processes. The SME ensures equipment reliability by auditing preventive maintenance (PM) programs and providing advanced technical support to ensure business operations meet client KSPs and SLAs
Duties / Responsibilities:
• Design and deliver advanced technical training modules for Machine Technicians at all sites to improve troubleshooting and setup accuracy.
• Mentor technicians on-site to resolve recurring technical inconsistencies and complex mechanical issues.
• Conduct performance audits of technical tasks to ensure training results meet operational standards.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for machine setup, repairs, and technical operations across the organization.
• Standardize the preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for barcode sorters and printers.
• Create and refine logs for machine incidents and resolutions in alignment with ISO9001 quality standards.
• Serve as the primary regional contact for major equipment failures, traveling to sites to lead complex repair efforts.
• Test machines following major services to certify they are fully operational and meet required parameters.
• Inspect machine readiness prior to high-volume production months to prevent technical delays.
• Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and maintenance costs to suggest technical improvements.
• Maintain the regional master inventory list of machine parts to ensure availability at all facilities.
• Assist in developing the technical budget for machine parts, repairs, and specialized services
Requirements:Required Skills and Competencies:
• Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Mail sorter, Bluecrest, Apex and Printer maintenance experience
• Inventory management skills
• Must be able to problem-solve with technical or mechanical issues.
• Ability to manage and keep track of budget or spending for the machine operations.
• Printing and mail experience is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal relations
• Microsoft Office and Outlook skills.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma, or a technical degree in Mechanics or machine operations or equivalent experience
• 3-years of pre-sort mail or Printer maintenance experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Lifting requirements of 30-50 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing at workstation.
• Must be able to continuously stand, walk, reach, extend, bend, stoop, and squat throughout the shift.
• Will be exposed to a loud noise environment and dust.
• Extended work shifts may be required due to business needs and the flexibility to work overtime and weekends are required.
• Will be required to travel 50% of the time.
