Job Description

Director, Field Intake & Business Requirements

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Field Intake & Business Requirements based in the United States.

This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of field operations, digital enablement, and enterprise technology delivery, ensuring that high-volume field demand is translated into precise, build-ready requirements. You will lead a team responsible for shaping, standardizing, and governing how business needs enter the organization, acting as the “single front door” for workflow, digital, and AI-enabled capability requests. The role is highly strategic, requiring both operational rigor and the ability to influence across business, technical, and transformation stakeholders. You will establish scalable intake frameworks, enforce requirement quality standards, and ensure that every request is clearly defined with measurable outcomes and implementation clarity. In close partnership with product, engineering, and pilot teams, you will help convert early ideas into enterprise-ready solutions. This is a high-impact leadership position where structure, clarity, and prioritization directly shape the effectiveness of large-scale digital transformation efforts.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for intake and requirements engineering, building strong capabilities in stakeholder discovery, business-to-technical translation, and structured documentation.
  • Establish and enforce enterprise-wide standards for requirements quality, including templates, definition of ready, acceptance criteria, traceability, and validation practices.
  • Own the single intake channel for field workflow and digital demand, ensuring all requests are captured consistently, shaped appropriately, and routed through a disciplined process.
  • Design and implement transparent prioritization and triage frameworks based on value, readiness, dependencies, and capacity constraints.
  • Translate field and business needs into complete, build-ready requirement packages including problem statements, scope boundaries, success criteria, constraints, dependencies, and rollout considerations.
  • Ensure AI-enabled and workflow automation use cases are properly defined with clear intent, guardrails, and measurable value outcomes.
  • Partner with pilot and experimentation teams to validate early concepts and evolve them into scalable, enterprise-ready requirements.
  • Build feedback loops from pilots and production use to continuously improve intake standards, requirement patterns, and governance models.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs to engineering and platform teams with sufficient evidence, readiness signals, and clarity to minimize rework and ambiguity.
  • Apply an end-to-end lifecycle mindset (define → design → build → pilot → scale → measure) to ensure requirements are aligned with downstream delivery and success metrics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; STEM background (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields) strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in business-to-technology translation, product or requirements leadership, workflow enablement, or technical program delivery in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Experience in regulated or complex industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, healthcare, medical devices, diagnostics, insurance, or other enterprise-scale sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and capability development.
  • Strong ability to define implementable requirements with clear scope, constraints, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • High technical fluency in digital workflows, automation concepts, CRM systems, and AI-enabled user experiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse business and technical groups.
  • Experience working with structured intake/governance models and prioritization frameworks.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity while bringing structure, clarity, and decision-ready recommendations.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary range of $160,300–$297,700 USD, with performance-based incentives and potential equity awards.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions and matching options.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, personal days, holidays, and additional leave programs.
  • Fully remote flexibility within the United States, with approximately 30% travel required.
  • Opportunity to work on enterprise-scale digital transformation and AI-enabled workflow initiatives.
  • Inclusive and collaborative environment focused on innovation, learning, and professional growth.
