Overview
Develops communications and marketing content, including print and electronic publications, website content, social media, campaigns, public relations materials, marketing, and other related materials in support of NYU Libraries' services and resources and its varied audiences, including NYU students, other library users, and potential donors. Collaborates and coordinates with Libraries and broader University constituents to generate, maintain, and disseminate content across communication channels. Conducts communications-related research and assessments to inform and improve decision-making around communication strategies and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Art, Design, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree
Required Experience:
2+ years relevant professional experience in communication in an academic or library setting, including experience planning, implementing, and evaluating a variety of communication and marketing activities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years experience working in an advertising agency, internal communications department, or design studio with multiple stakeholders and a variety of communications projects.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and flexibility working across organizational lines. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with web content management systems and proficiency in web content development methodology. Excellent writing and communications skills, including proofreading, generating content, and the ability to transform clinical terminology and jargon into clear, conversational communications. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, and strong graphic design skills. Proficiency with accessibility guidelines for web content, documents, and images. Ability to use market research; approach marketing and communication challenges creatively in a high energy, complex university environment. Strong creative sense. Ability to design high-functioning and artistic physical spaces (e.g., tabling displays, interactive experiences, etc.) Skill in crafting targeted communications for addressing specialized needs of diverse audiences through strategic choices in language, design, and communication platforms. Knowledge of communication theories, principles, practices and techniques. Familiarity with commonly used style guides. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to be creative and flexible in response to complex work situations.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with social and digital media platforms and content management systems, and proficiency in web content development methodology. Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $88,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
