The Opportunity

Lesley University's Department of Expressive Therapies is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach GEXTH 6032: Human Development in the Fall Semester 2026 (In Person, On Campus). The two sections available are:

  • Wednesdays, 9:35 am – 12:05 pm (In Person)

  • Wednesdays, 12:55 pm – 3:05 pm (In Person)

Course Description:

The focus of this course is to explore developmental psychology, theory, and research. The course will integrate physical, cognitive, affective, neurological, and social development through a cross-cultural perspective. Implications for understanding human behavior across the lifespan will be addressed and will include arts-based development and application to clinical mental health counseling practice.

Qualities & Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Master's degree in Expressive Therapies, Counseling, or a closely related field (required); PhD or terminal degree (preferred)

  • Demonstrated teaching experience in Expressive Therapies or a related field at the graduate level

  • Knowledge of human development across the lifespan

  • Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
