Territory Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Territory Manager based in United States.

This field-based sales role is responsible for growing an established territory through strategic account development and strong customer relationships.
You will work closely with plumbing wholesalers, plumbers, builders, contractors, and other trade professionals across the greater Portland/Vancouver market.
The role combines consultative selling, product expertise, customer education, and territory planning to drive sustainable revenue growth.
You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers identify the right solutions while strengthening product adoption and loyalty.
Success will depend on your ability to independently manage a territory while collaborating closely with regional and cross-functional teams.
The environment is customer-focused, relationship-driven, and highly active, with regular travel throughout the territory.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced outside sales professional with strong plumbing or building-products knowledge to represent a well-established industry brand.

Accountabilities:
  • Build and strengthen long-term relationships with plumbing wholesalers, distributors, plumbers, builders, contractors, and other trade professionals across the assigned territory.
  • Grow an established customer portfolio by identifying opportunities to expand product adoption, increase sales, and strengthen strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with annual revenue objectives and longer-term business growth strategies.
  • Present merchandising, marketing, promotional, and product programs that create customer value and increase market presence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through regular account visits, proactive communication, timely follow-up, and responsive problem-solving.
  • Deliver product presentations, customer training sessions, trade-show participation, and other educational activities to increase product knowledge and adoption.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership, strategic account teams, business development professionals, and other Territory Managers on wholesale and builder initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication with key accounts to monitor satisfaction, anticipate customer needs, and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Use CRM systems and established sales processes to manage customer relationships, territory activity, pipeline opportunities, and sales performance.
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence to internal teams to support product and commercial strategies.
  • Represent the brand and organization with professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to customer experience.
  • Independently manage territory travel, administrative activities, and customer priorities while remaining focused on overall sales objectives.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in plumbing, building materials, construction products, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with plumbing wholesalers, distributors, plumbers, builders, contractors, or other channel partners.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility across diverse customer groups.
  • Experience presenting products, conducting customer training, and supporting sales and marketing programs.
  • Ability to independently manage a geographic territory, prioritize activities, and adapt to changing customer and business needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or comparable systems is preferred.
  • Experience selling plumbing products, faucets, fixtures, building materials, or related products is highly desirable.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Must reside within the greater Portland/Vancouver area and be able to support a territory extending north to Olympia, Washington, south to Salem, Oregon, and east toward the Idaho border.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, primarily by vehicle, including approximately 2–3 overnight trips per month.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment while collaborating with regional and cross-functional teams.
Benefits:
  • Base salary range of $55,000–$88,000 USD, with actual compensation based on factors such as experience, education, training, achievement, business needs, and location.
  • Eligibility for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance or a role-based sales incentive plan.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Market-leading 401(k) program with company contribution.
  • Product discounts.
  • Flexible time-off benefits.
  • Adoption benefits.
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) supporting inclusion, belonging, and community.
  • Company car provided for approved business travel.
  • Expense card for approved travel-related expenses.
  • Field-based work environment with significant autonomy and customer interaction.
  • Opportunities to develop professionally while working with established products and customers in the plumbing and building-products market.
