Description:

As a Project Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for managing projects and contracts from planning through completion. You will help ensure work is performed using the most cost-effective methods while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks. This role involves reviewing costs, schedules, and project plans to track milestones, identify potential roadblocks, and drive projects forward. Using strong communication and organizational skills, you will provide regular updates on project and program progress to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a decisive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works collaboratively with internal and external teams, and remains focused on achieving organizational goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities and Duties (including, but not limited to):

  • Estimating & Cost Tracking – Review timesheets, project expenses, and supporting documentation to ensure proper coding, accurate cost tracking, and reliable financial reporting.
  • Scheduling – Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, with daily oversight and weekly reporting using Microsoft Project.
  • On-Site Management / Quality Assurance – Utilize traveler packages and oversee project execution in accordance with established Quality Assurance (QA) Program requirements.
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance – Ensure all safety and environmental procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements are consistently followed.
  • Crew & Subcontractor Management – Coordinate and manage crews and subcontractors to support project objectives, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Purchasing – Requisition and coordinate materials, equipment rentals, and project-related resources as required to support successful project execution.
  • Welding Procedures & Qualifications – Maintain welder certifications and qualifications, coordinate new qualifications as needed, and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Monitor project progress, communicate status updates, and work collaboratively to resolve issues and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience in marine, shipyard, industrial, construction, manufacturing, or related environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Knowledge of welding procedures, quality assurance practices, and applicable regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and work in operational, shipyard, or industrial environments as needed.
  • Must be able to pass any required pre-employment screenings and maintain eligibility to work in the United States.
