Job Description

Quality Assurance Technician

About Somafina

Somafina is a growing, thriving third-party manufacturer of vitamins and supplements. We're passionate about producing high-quality products that meet the highest standards in the nutraceutical industry — and that starts with a team that cares as much about quality as we do. If you're detail-oriented, take pride in doing things right, and want to be part of a company built on innovation and customer satisfaction, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in making sure every product that leaves our facility meets our exacting standards — from raw materials to finished goods. Day to day, you'll:

  • Verify product specifications and ensure company policies and procedures are followed
  • Clear production equipment, rooms, and packaging lines between runs
  • Authorize rework when needed and perform cleaning verifications
  • Review in-process documentation and manage documentation control
  • Conduct yield investigations, product sampling, and point-step process reviews
  • Review materials and verify labels against work orders for accuracy
  • Partner with Production and Customer Service to keep projects on track and compliant with federal regulations
  • Champion cGMP compliance across the facility
  • Take on other tasks as assigned by your supervisor

What You Bring

Education

  • High school diploma or GED, plus 1–3 months of related experience/training — or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with GMPs; nutraceutical industry experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable following instructions while also using sound judgment within company guidelines
  • Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
  • Adaptable — you roll with change and stay effective when priorities shift
  • A reliable, self-directed team member with high integrity
  • Knowledge of Dietary Supplement GMPs and experience in the dietary supplement industry preferred
  • Auditing experience a plus, but not required
  • Experience enforcing SOPs and product specifications
  • Proficient in MS Office, with required Excel skills
  • Solid math skills and English proficiency required

Physical Requirements

This role is active and hands-on. You'll regularly stand, walk, sit, and use your hands; occasionally lift/move up to 20 lbs. and frequently up to 10 lbs.; and need close, distant, color, and peripheral vision along with depth perception. The role may involve exposure to a dusty environment and moderate noise levels.
