Position Summary

This is an ONSITE position located in Bethesda, Maryland.

National Capitol Contracting is seeking an AMX Audio Visual Systems Programmer to support a large-scale enterprise audiovisual environment. In this position, you will work closely with government and contract teams to develop user-facing control solutions, troubleshoot and modernize legacy systems, and collaborate with the engineering team to ensure operational readiness across a regional AV enterprise. Key Areas Of Responsibility

  • Write code and develop user interfaces, control system programming, and DSP configuration files to implement customer requirements, including automations, user interfaces, audio and video routing, acoustic configuration, and ease of use.
  • Generate and maintain system-wide technical documentation in partnership with dedicated engineers and senior technical leads.
  • Contribute to weekly technical discussions regarding modernizations, retrofits, new projects, and maintenance efforts.
  • Program, test, deploy, and troubleshoot AMX control systems and associated AV technologies.
  • Support commissioning activities and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system functionality and reliability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (Must be able to pass a criminal background and credit check).
  • Certification or extensive experience with AMX control system programming and development, including NetLinx programming and AMX user interface development.
  • Familiarity with Dante audio configuration.
  • Experience managing AV infrastructure for state-of-the-art public-facing event venues, convention centers, entertainment facilities, museums, or enterprise environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting audiovisual equipment, including direct-view LED walls, control devices, switchers, scalers, wireless microphones, lighting controllers, and touch-enabled systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting control systems.
  • Proven track record of supporting and leading on-site technicians while resolving complex technical issues.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience working in a multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AMX Programming Certification or equivalent advanced AMX training.
  • Dante Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting and managing IP networks, including router and switch configuration for audio and video systems.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience with multiple computer operating systems.
  • IT support experience, including network and systems engineering.
  • Experience with streaming media technologies.
  • Experience supporting Windows environments, asset management platforms, and remote monitoring/control of AV devices.
  • Experience working within government contracting environments.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Environment/Physical Demands: Many of our site campuses are large and require travel by foot, ability to lift 30 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
