The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
The Advanced Practice Nurse may be required to rotate between the Employee Health and Wellness clinics although the main location will be out of the Central Jersey Hub (New Brunswick) Employee Health Location.
With advanced clinical expertise, the NP performs fitness for duty evaluations, health evaluations and medical clearances of existing employees and potential new hires in accordance to the departments policies, procedures and protocols.
The NP also evaluates employees for new hire screenings, medical surveillance, return to work clearances, health screenings and for-cause substance testing.
The NP performs many of these same services for external clients as well.
The APN will serve as the primary provider at off-site clinics for PSE & G and other external clients.
Travel will be required.
Licenses/Requirements:
- Licensure as an Advanced Practical Nurse
- NP Certification (Family NP Preferred)
- Master's degree
- Board certification required- AANP or ANCC
- 3+ years of direct hands-on experience working in occupational/employee health, primary care and/or urgent care settings
- Department of Transportation Certification preferred, without DOT certification, it must be obtained within 4 months of employment.
- BLS/CPR and ACLS Certification
- CDS and DEA

- 10:30a-7:30p
Essential Functions:
- Provides medical assessments, treatments, clearances for RWJBH applicants, team members, constituents and external customers per specific company profiles & or regulatory standards
- Serves employees and provides timely evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries, illnesses and exposures
- Clinical practice accurately reflects NJ Board of Medical Examiners regulations, Code of Ethics, the current NJ Department of Health requirements, and RWJBH policies and procedures
- Develops and implements appropriate plan of care
- Evaluates current protocols and standards of care for translation of best practice into clinical practice,
- Supports the development of evidenced-based practice protocols and standards of care that include interventions and treatments to achieve desired outcomes
- Prescribes medications and/or recommends over-the-counter medications as appropriate
- Initiates laboratory tests, immunizations, and diagnostic test/procedures as appropriate according to regulation and scope of practice
- Demonstrates competent clinical skills with treatment plans using most effective screening test or procedure
- Collaborates with physician and consults effectively with other members of the health care team
- Demonstrate effective communication skills interdisciplinary to achieve results
- Provides accurate, systematic and organized documentation of findings, recommendations/plan and education
- Independently participates in continuing education and maintains documentation,
- Develops a personal plan of development in area of clinical expertise, conferring with leader on goals and objectives
- Provides culturally diverse and educationally appropriate education in relation to patient care/needs
- Serves as a clinical resource to nursing staff, patients, and other multidisciplinary team members across the continuum to evaluate complex patients and identify appropriate interventions and evaluation of outcomes
- Acts as a resource to staff for addressing clinical, process, and system opportunities for improvement which promote excellence in care and clinical outcomes
- Promotes a collaborative work environment which supports the organizational mission, behavior expectations and values
- Identifies ethical care issues and coordinates interdisciplinary collaborative meetings to resolve those issues,
- Participates/Provides report out in Hospital's Safety, Infection Control and/or Environment of Care meetings as assigned
