SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Chief Financial Officer serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for the financial strategy, stewardship, sustainability, and performance of Vibrant Health. The CFO provides leadership across finance, accounting, revenue cycle, budgeting, forecasting, grants management, payer strategy, compliance, risk management, and financial decision support. The CFO partners closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, Executive team, and Operational leaders to strengthen Vibrant Health’s financial position while advancing its mission as a Federally Qualified Health Center.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESProviding strategic financial leadership to support Vibrant Health’s mission, long-term sustainability, operational performance, and growth as an FQHC.
- Leading the development of timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting, including budgets, forecasts, financial trends, cash flow projections, and KPIs.
- Directing and overseeing all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of Vibrant Health.
- Providing executive oversight of revenue cycle performance, including billing, coding, claims management, denials, collections, reimbursement accuracy, payer credentialing, and patient financial processes.
- Leading analysis and oversight related to payer reimbursement, Medicaid and Medicare payment models, FQHC reimbursement requirements, 340B program performance, and other funding mechanisms critical to health center sustainability.
- Evaluating and advising on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs and strategies, and regulatory action.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with all levels of employees including senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
- Providing executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Managing processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation.
- Providing recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Preparing and maintaining a cash plan for VH and managing banking/credit relationships.
- Participating in and overseeing key investments including software systems; operational alternatives (e.g. call-centers); and site placement and/or expansion.
- Staying informed on all grant and regulatory matters pertaining to the agency and recommending appropriate actions to maximize funding and maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Implementing systems and procedures for internal auditing of the agency finances and operations, and coordinating activities relating to external audits.
- In conjunction with the Human Resources Department, ensuring all insurances are handled timely and efficiently to assure best cost practices and providing all required coverage.
- Reviewing departmental performance and ensuring compliance with fiscal governmental reporting requirements, including tax reports.
- Serving as the primary financial advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee, providing clear reporting and analysis on financial performance, budget performance, cash position, risks, opportunities, and long-term sustainability.
- Pursuing all financial activities, in conjunction with the CEO, to expand the clinic, including but not limited to, enhanced education and training related to rules and regulations affecting FQHC’s, monitoring and providing oversight into fiscal related compliance issues, and pursing all avenues of funding available to non-profit organizations

- Performing other executive-level responsibilities as needed to support the effective functioning of the organization and advance Vibrant Health’s mission.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience in a healthcare, nonprofit, community health, or similarly complex reimbursement environment.
- Experience with grant accounting, revenue cycle oversight, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement, 340B program financial oversight, cost reporting, and/or HRSA compliance.
- Highly competent technology skills on a variety of platforms required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

- Exhibit experience and working knowledge of local community resources
- Hold current drivers’ license and reliable transportation.
- Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- CPA, MBA, MHA or relevant Master’s degree.
- Federally Qualified Health Center experience.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Familiarity with dental terminology.

- Position involves extensive use of computer, telephone, fax and copier equipment.
- Employment is contingent upon successful clearance from Criminal, Kansas and Missouri Child/Elder Abuse and Neglect and Sex Offender background investigations, TB testing, and pre-employment drug testing.
- Verification of Hepatitis-B vaccination.
- Occasional evening and weekend availability is required.
