Solutions Architect, Financial Systems

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solutions Architect, Financial Systems based in United States.

This role is designed for a strategic technology leader who will shape the architecture and future direction of critical financial systems.
You will drive modernization initiatives across billing, payments, accounting, reinsurance, and enterprise integrations while partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders.
The position combines enterprise architecture, engineering leadership, and business transformation to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
You will guide teams in adopting modern engineering practices, cloud-native technologies, automation, and AI-enabled development approaches.

Accountabilities:

As a Solutions Architect, Financial Systems, you will define technology strategy, lead architecture decisions, and ensure the successful evolution of financial platforms. You will collaborate with business leaders, engineering teams, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and future-ready solutions.

  • Define and execute a multi-year technology vision and architecture roadmap for financial systems, aligning investments with business priorities.
  • Lead solution architecture for strategic initiatives, ensuring consistency with enterprise standards, security requirements, and long-term technology goals.
  • Establish architecture principles, governance frameworks, reusable patterns, and best practices that support scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership across financial technology platforms, including billing, payments, accounting, reinsurance, and enterprise integrations.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, promoting ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive engineering excellence through modern delivery practices, quality standards, automation, observability, and operational discipline.
  • Partner with Finance, Security, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver integrated technology solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor solutions, and architectural approaches to support business transformation.
  • Champion responsible adoption of AI across software architecture, development, testing, documentation, and operational processes.
  • Advance cloud-native architecture, API-first design, CI/CD, DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, and developer productivity practices.
  • Communicate complex technical strategies clearly to executive stakeholders and business audiences.
  • Guide modernization initiatives while balancing strategic vision with hands-on involvement in critical technical decisions.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in enterprise architecture, software engineering leadership, and financial technology systems. You should have a strong ability to translate business objectives into secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions while leading teams through transformation.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, architecture, or technology leadership roles.
  • Proven experience designing and leading architecture for large-scale, business-critical enterprise platforms.
  • Required experience with financial applications such as billing platforms, payment systems, accounting solutions, or similar enterprise finance technologies.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud-native platforms, APIs, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience with cloud ecosystems, preferably AWS, including infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, security, and automation practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading modernization programs, digital transformation initiatives, and technology strategy execution.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled engineering practices and modern software delivery approaches.
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with practical technical guidance.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, particularly personal lines property and casualty (P&C), is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
