The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Neurology, is hiring a faculty affairs coordinator as a key administrative partner supporting faculty throughout all stages of their academic appointment and career lifecycle. This position coordinates faculty appointments, promotions, tenure processes, onboarding, and compliance with institutional and accreditation requirements. The coordinator works closely with department leadership, faculty members, Human Resources, and central Faculty Affairs offices to ensure timely and effective administration of faculty-related processes.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience are required.
Supports Faculty Records functions by assisting with faculty appointments and promotions processing as well as reviewal of faculty action requests and faculty promotion dossiers. Provides reports to executive leadership. Interacts extensively with executive leadership and serves as a knowledgeable Faculty Affairs policy source.
Essential Functions
• Coordinate faculty recruitment, appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes.
• Coordinate faculty affairs committee meetings and maintain meeting records.
• Assist with faculty development programs, workshops, and educational initiatives.
• Serve as a resource regarding faculty policies, procedures, and academic requirements.
Additional duties as assigned
Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives.
Physical Effort
Mostly sedentary. Must be able to get around a university setting.
