Job Description
OnScent has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Inside Sales Executive to join our Sales Team. This is primarily an inside sales role focused on fragrance creation and cosmetic ingredients, where you will manage the day-to-day needs of smaller and developing accounts—including product, pricing, and scent design requests—while supporting their growth into larger partnerships.
This position is designed for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build relationships—combining both administrative responsibilities and hands-on sales activities. Most of your work will be conducted through phone, video calls, email, and CRM management, with occasional client visits (about 10% travel) to build stronger relationships.
This position is required to be on site at our Creative Center in Hackensack, NJ.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to....
- Manage and grow smaller, developing house accounts by responding to product, pricing, scent design, and information requests.
- Proactively follow up on leads, guiding opportunities from inception to close with a consultative but detail-oriented approach.
- Maintain and update your account pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring all interactions, data, and opportunity sizes are accurately documented.
- Prioritize leads from sample requests, industry events, digital sales, and proactive outreach (calls, video meetings, email).
- Provide accurate pricing and communicate changes to customers.
- Collaborate with Technical, Perfumery, Regulatory, and Quality teams to provide customers with tailored product recommendations.
- Resolve customer complaints quickly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction while staying within company guidelines.
- Handle the administrative side of your own accounts—including documentation, CRM updates, and preparation of client-facing materials.
- Conduct occasional on-site visits with clients to strengthen relationships and support growth opportunities.
- Share feedback and observations that may help refine our approach to customer growth.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support account objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years' experience in inside sales, sales support, or account management; experience in fragrance, beauty, cosmetic ingredients, or product development is strongly appreciated.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM systems such as Salesforce, Salesloft, and NetSuite.
- Experience in entrepreneurial or middle-market environments a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally (about 10% of the time).
