The Maintenance Technician at the Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) is responsible for supporting the safety, functionality, and upkeep of agency facilities to ensure a clean, secure, and well-maintained environment for staff, clients, and visitors. This position plays a key role in maintaining operational readiness across all CFCE locations by performing routine maintenance, responding to repair requests, and assisting with preventative maintenance activities. The Maintenance Technician works collaboratively with administrative and program staff to ensure that all physical spaces meet health, safety, and regulatory standards required for service delivery.

Some of the Functions Include:
- Perform general building maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC support as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance issues and safety hazards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests submitted by staff and leadership.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on facility systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of interior and exterior building areas, including grounds upkeep as assigned.
- Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and room reconfigurations.
- Monitor and replenish facility supplies such as cleaning materials, light bulbs, and other maintenance-related inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and CFCE policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services when required.
- Document completed work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support emergency response procedures including fire drills, evacuations, and disaster preparedness activities.
- Arrive to work on time and respond to urgent facility issues as needed, including after-hours emergencies when applicable.
- Attend mandatory trainings, safety meetings, and staff development sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times while on CFCE property.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building or facilities maintenance, preferably in a healthcare, nonprofit, or institutional setting.
Skills Needed
- Working knowledge of general maintenance practices including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, work orders, and safety instructions.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening and fingerprinting process.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds as needed.
