Job Description

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary: The Project Designer is responsible for creating and developing design concepts for various projects, ensuring they meet client requirements and align with the company's standards. This role involves collaborating with clients, project managers, and other team members to deliver innovative and functional design solutions. The Project Designer will also be involved in preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design 3D CAD models for new or existing products that will be manufactured in acoustic materials and using in-house manufacturing processes.
  • Engineer 2D Programs for manufacturing use to produce our catalogue of products.
  • Prepare detailed submittal drawings for client approval from 3D CAD models and Architect provided blueprints.
  • Understand and be able to read Reflected Ceiling Plans and Elevation Drawings.
  • Revise 3D Models for new innovations and test prototypes.
  • Understand and advise on custom product design as needed for orders.
  • Assist in resolving product-related customer complaints.
  • Ensure design projects are completed within the assigned timeline.
  • Follow the Design Process to create new product designs.
  • Assist production with rework reduction and control.
  • Essential functions also include providing support to ensure the accurate and timely completion of projects to remain compliant with Company and client standards and requirements
  • Monitor, track, and schedule work priorities and ensure accurate and timely submission of required work
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or relevant technical degree in 3D design.
  • 3+ years of 3D product design experience using Solidworks and 2D drafting experience using AutoCAD
  • Certified Solidworks Associate (CSWA) or Certified Solidworks Professional (CSWP) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite is preferred
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office preferably in Excel
  • Works well in a team
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail, Continuous Improvement Mindset
  • Analytical and well organized
  • Ability to present technical data informatively and can work within deadlines
