Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday Contract and Journeys Consultant based in the United States.
This is a hands-on Workday consulting opportunity focused on building scalable contract, offer-letter, and employee journey solutions.
You will play a key role in automating HR processes across 14 countries, accounting for distinct regional requirements and compliance considerations.
The role combines detailed Workday configuration with workflow design, document automation, integrations, testing, and troubleshooting.
You will also help implement Workday Journeys, initially alongside an implementation partner before supporting a broader global rollout.
Success requires deep functional knowledge of Workday Recruiting, Onboarding, Workday Docs, and Journeys rather than reporting or dashboard-only experience.
You will collaborate closely with HRIS, HR, communications, business partners, leadership, and external implementation teams.
This is a fully remote contract role offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on global employee and candidate experiences.
- Configure and optimize Workday Recruiting business processes, including Offer, Employment Agreement, and Onboarding steps.
- Design and maintain automated offer letters and employment contracts using Workday Docs and calculated fields to dynamically populate compensation, job profile, location, and other relevant data.
- Configure multi-level approval workflows and security permissions for sensitive employment and candidate documentation.
- Maintain and support e-signature integrations with platforms such as DocuSign, ensuring reliable candidate execution and document processing.
- Troubleshoot document-generation issues, conditional rules, workflow behavior, and data handoffs between pre-hire and active worker records.
- Support the configuration and rollout of contract and offer automation across 14 countries, incorporating country-specific requirements and global compliance considerations.
- Build, test, and maintain personalized Workday Journeys using the platform's configuration tools, templates, and capabilities.
- Integrate Workday tasks, external resources, links, and third-party applications into employee journeys covering key moments such as onboarding, manager transitions, and role changes.
- Configure audience segmentation so journeys can be targeted according to factors such as location, job level, department, and demographic data.
- Partner with HRIS teams and an external Workday implementation partner during the initial Journeys rollout, providing hands-on configuration and implementation support.
- Support the eventual expansion of Journeys across global employee populations.
- Collaborate with internal communications, HR business partners, and leadership to translate training, policy, and engagement initiatives into effective digital employee experiences.
- Gather requirements, translate HR policies into automated workflows, and recommend practical Workday solutions that support business objectives.
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience, with significant expertise in Workday Recruiting and Workday Journeys.
- Demonstrated experience configuring and implementing Workday solutions rather than focusing primarily on reporting, analytics, or dashboards.
- Strong proficiency with Workday Onboarding, Workday Docs, calculated fields, the Business Process Framework (BPF), notifications, and document-generation configuration.
- Hands-on experience configuring Workday offer letters, employment agreements, contracts, and related recruiting processes.
- Experience building and maintaining Workday Journeys, including audience targeting, personalized content, task integration, and third-party resources.
- Experience supporting global or multi-country Workday implementations, ideally involving different employment contract, compliance, or digital-signature requirements by country.
- Understanding of e-signature integrations and platforms such as DocuSign.
- Strong testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to diagnose configuration and data-flow issues.
- Excellent requirements-gathering and business-analysis skills, with the ability to translate HR policies and processes into automated Workday workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with HRIS teams, HR stakeholders, leadership, implementation partners, and technical teams.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while managing multiple configuration and implementation priorities.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder status required.
- Availability for a contract engagement of 6+ months, with potential for extension.
- 100% remote work within the United States.
- 6+ month contract with potential for extension.
- Opportunity to work on a complex 14-country global Workday implementation.
- Hands-on exposure to Workday Recruiting, Onboarding, Workday Docs, Business Process Framework, and Journeys.
- Opportunity to contribute to the global rollout of Workday Journeys following the initial EMEA implementation phase.
- Collaboration with internal HRIS professionals and an experienced Workday implementation partner.
- Opportunity to design scalable HR automation and improve candidate and employee experiences across multiple countries.
- High-impact consulting environment with significant ownership over configuration, implementation, testing, and rollout activities.
