Job Description
Position Summary
The People Operations Partner owns the operational backbone of the employee experience while serving as a hands-on
partner to the business. This role manages end-to-end payroll, benefits, leave, workers’ compensation, and total
rewards administration, and partners with department leaders across pharmacy, sales, customer service, warehouse,
and lab teams to support employees through the full lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills,
exceptional attention to detail, deep compliance knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse
employee groups in a fast-moving, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on policies, benefits, pay, and workplace concerns.
- Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, corrective action, and documentation.
- Support employee relations matters and investigations in partnership with the HR Director.
- Advise on consistent, fair application of company policy across teams.
Payroll Administration
- Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, deductions, and earnings.
- Enter and audit deductions, garnishments, reimbursements, retro pay, and manual checks.
- Review and validate timecards, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with FLSA and state labor laws.
Benefits Administration
- Administer day-to-day operations of company benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
- Serve as the primary contact for team member benefit inquiries and issue resolution.
- Coordinate benefits enrollments, life event changes, and eligibility updates.
- Support annual open enrollment planning, communications, and system setup.
- Partner with carriers, brokers, and vendors to resolve eligibility and claims issues.
- Monitor benefits data accuracy between HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems.
Leave of Absence Management
- Coordinate employee leave processes including FMLA, ADA, state leaves, short-term disability, and company leave programs.
- Manage leave intake, documentation tracking, and communication with team members, managers, and HR.
- Monitor leave timelines and required documentation to maintain compliance.
Workers’ Compensation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for workplace injury reports; gather incident details, complete documentation, and file claims promptly with the carrier.
- Develop and manage transitional duty assignments; collaborate with managers to accommodate restrictions and support a safe return to work.
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs, prepare annual summaries, and ensure accurate classification of recordable vs. non-recordable incidents.
- Maintain relationships with carriers, third-party administrators, and occupational health clinics to ensure timely case resolution.
Retirement & Savings Program Support
- Coordinate day-to-day administration of the company’s 401(k) program.
- Serve as liaison with the plan recordkeeper and benefits advisors for operational issues.
- Monitor eligibility, enrollment activity, and employee inquiries related to retirement benefits.
- Assist with required plan communications, auditing, reporting, and reconciliation.
Total Rewards & Compensation
- Support compensation cycle activities such as merit increases, job changes, and pay adjustments.
- Help maintain pay structures and ensure internal consistency and market alignment.
Onboarding, Offboarding & Talent Support
- Run onboarding and offboarding so each is consistent, compliant, and a strong employee experience.
- Support recruiting and hiring alongside the HR Director and recruiters, from posting through offer.
HR Operations, Compliance & Culture
- Help build and maintain HR processes, SOPs, and the employee handbook as the company scales.
- Track and report on people metrics (headcount, turnover, time-to-fill, engagement).
- Maintain accurate records in the HRIS (Paylocity) and protect employee confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with federal, Florida, and pharmacy-specific employment requirements.
- Drive culture and engagement initiatives that fit Hallandale’s values.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with direct exposure to payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FL experience a plus).
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, Paycom, Workday).
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried teams across multiple functions.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with high discretion handling sensitive information.
- PHR/SHRM-CP certification a plus.
