Salary: $65,000 - $85,000
The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction and facility projects performed under federal contracts. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, this role assists with project documentation, scheduling, estimating, subcontractor coordination, and communication with customers and internal teams. This position is ideal for an individual who is eager to build a career in construction project management, enjoys solving problems, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination.
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
- Prepare project reports, meeting notes, and correspondence.
- Assist with project estimating and cost tracking.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Help monitor project schedules to ensure milestones are achieved.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Track project changes, submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentation.
- Maintain accurate project files and records.
- Support quality control and safety compliance efforts.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project stakeholders, and team members.
- Assist with other duties as needed or assigned to ensure project and team success.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in project coordination, construction, facilities, engineering, or a related industry preferred.
- Experience supporting construction, facilities, federal, or military projects is preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn quickly, manage multiple priorities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and a genuine interest in construction and project management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn project management, estimating, scheduling, document management, and other construction-related software.
- Valid driver's license.
- First Aid/CPR Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- OSHA 30 Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required contract and site access credentials.

Working Environment
The duties of this position require job performance in indoor and outdoor settings, which includes office work as well as frequent visits to active construction sites, which may be indoors or outdoors. Performance of essential job duties may involve exposure to various weather conditions, uneven terrain, construction equipment or materials, noise, duty, and other job-related hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and appropriate safety gear is required on all active job sites. Travel between job sites may be required.
Physical Requirements
The physical abilities and demands required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to sit, stand, knee, bend, walk, climb, and otherwise navigate active construction areas safely.
- Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move materials or equipment, regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hands to operate computers, phones, and other office or field equipment.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders and conduct site walkthroughs in unfinished or outdoor areas.
- Visual acuity to read drawings, perform inspections, and review detailed documentation.
- Ability to use verbal and written/electronic communication for daily tasks and communication.
