This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior National Account Manager based in the United States.
This remote role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of a strategic national account and drive meaningful commercial growth. You will lead customer relationships, develop business strategies, and identify opportunities to expand branded offerings and win new business. The position goes beyond traditional account management, combining consultative selling, analytics, creative problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. You will partner with teams across marketing, R&D, culinary, and operations to develop customer solutions and product opportunities. Strong commercial judgment and P&L expertise will be essential to building profitable growth and sustainable customer relationships. The role also includes national travel and close engagement with both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Own and grow relationships with strategic national accounts, identifying incremental branded opportunities, expanding customer penetration, and building a profitable pipeline for future development and conversion.
- Lead joint business planning and customer strategy development, using market insights, analytics, and customer data to create compelling selling stories and actionable growth plans.
- Develop and advance proprietary product and business opportunities in partnership with R&D and Marketing teams, while collaborating with culinary stakeholders on SKU assortment and customer-specific solutions.
- Lead RFP and contract activities, ensuring customer requirements, commercial objectives, and internal priorities are effectively aligned throughout the process.
- Support S&OP activities through accurate forecasting, demand planning, and initiatives designed to mitigate waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage commercial performance and P&L considerations, including trade budget management and initiatives designed to deliver consistent, profitable growth.
- Challenge established approaches and identify creative, differentiated solutions, applying strong commercial judgment to prioritize opportunities with the greatest potential business impact.
- Build influence across customers, internal teams, and strategic partners through effective communication, collaboration, and relationship management.
- Bachelor's degree is required, along with at least 3 years of sales experience demonstrating success in account management, profitable volume growth, customer penetration, new business development, and revenue expansion.
- Experience in the CPG, restaurant, culinary, and/or foodservice distribution industries is required, with prior foodservice experience considered an advantage.
- Proven ability to develop and execute account strategies, identify growth opportunities, and convert customer insights into actionable commercial plans.
- Demonstrated P&L management experience, including responsibility for trade budgets and delivering consistent, profitable growth.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including experience working with sales management systems, business planning tools, and data-driven approaches to retaining and developing customers.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and gain alignment across customers, internal teams, and business partners.
- Entrepreneurial and creative mindset, with a willingness to challenge the status quo, develop unconventional solutions, and distinguish high-value opportunities from lower-priority prospects.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and leadership orientation, with the ability to operate independently while coordinating effectively across multiple functions.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight as required, with travel frequency varying according to territory and customer needs.
- Base salary range of $120,800–$151,000 per year.
- Eligibility for a performance-based bonus under the applicable plan terms.
