Job Description

Video Creator, User Generated Content and Social

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Video Creator, User Generated Content and Social based in Canada.

This role is focused on building an always-on short-form video engine designed for modern social feeds. You will turn internet culture, industry news, and technical topics into engaging content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and other channels. From scripting and filming to editing and appearing on camera, you will own the creative process from idea to publication. The role combines creativity with rapid experimentation, using audience data and performance insights to continuously improve content. You will work closely with social and digital performance teams to shape the weekly content slate and respond quickly to emerging trends. This is an individual contributor opportunity for a hands-on creator who thrives in fast-paced environments and can consistently move concepts from idea to published video within 24–48 hours.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the launch and development of a TikTok presence while supporting expansion across Instagram, X, Reddit, and other relevant social channels.
  • Monitor viral formats, trending audio, internet culture, and industry news to identify timely content opportunities.
  • Turn emerging trends and relevant industry topics into engaging, brand-aligned content within a 24–48-hour production cycle.
  • Script, film, edit, and publish approximately 3–4 short-form videos per week across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and other vertical-feed formats.
  • Build and maintain a weekly content slate that balances reactive trend-driven content with planned campaigns, product moments, and editorial priorities.
  • Develop strong hooks within the first few seconds of each video to capture attention and improve viewer retention.
  • Serve as the primary on-camera talent for many videos while directing internal employees when additional talent is needed.
  • Translate complex B2B and programmatic advertising topics into accessible, entertaining, and social-native content.
  • Adapt creative approaches to the unique formats, audiences, and content dynamics of different social platforms.
  • Analyze retention curves, drop-off rates, watch-through rates, and audience interactions to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Test different editing styles, formats, hooks, messaging approaches, and recurring content concepts based on performance data.
  • Establish repeatable workflows that enable content to move efficiently from trend identification and ideation through production and publication.

Requirements:

  • A strong public portfolio, personal platform, or collection of short-form video examples demonstrating social-native content creation and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to create short-form videos with strong pacing, captions, hooks, and platform-appropriate storytelling rather than traditional cinematic or corporate video styles.
  • A strong bias toward speed and execution, with the ability to prioritize shipping effective content quickly over pursuing unnecessary perfection.
  • Ability to translate complex technical or B2B concepts, including topics such as CTV, DSPs, and contextual targeting, into entertaining and accessible content for broader audiences.
  • Deep understanding of how content discovery and engagement dynamics differ across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Strong proficiency with native or modern short-form editing tools such as CapCut or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects.
  • Ability to independently manage the full video production process, including ideation, scripting, filming, on-camera hosting, editing, and publishing.
  • Strong on-camera presence and confidence appearing in a significant portion of the content you create.
  • Strong understanding of short-form storytelling, audience retention, visual hooks, pacing, captions, and social engagement.
  • Comfortable using performance data and audience feedback to guide creative decisions and continuously iterate.
  • Highly adaptable, self-directed, and comfortable working within clear editorial direction while operating independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with social, marketing, performance, and creative stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits:

  • Base salary of $76,000–$104,500 CAD.
  • Potential eligibility for additional compensation, including annual bonuses, commissions, equity awards, and benefits depending on the role.
  • Remote-first position with candidates across Canada welcome; the Greater Toronto Area is preferred.
  • Retirement, 401(k), or pension savings programs globally, where applicable.
  • Competitive paid time off packages, including birthday leave.
  • Comprehensive mental health care program.
  • Health benefits from day one of employment, where applicable.
  • Work-from-home reimbursement.
  • Optional global WeWork membership and access to hubs in London and Toronto.
  • Robust training and onboarding program.
  • Support for professional and personal development initiatives, including conferences, courses, and books.
  • Access to programmatic courses and certifications to support continuous learning.
  • Parental leave program.
  • Friendly, welcoming, and supportive working environment.
  • Social and team events.
  • Inclusive and accessible recruitment process, with accommodations available upon request.
  • Benefits and perks may vary depending on location and the nature of employment.
