Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates, delegates and provides professional care to patients assigned to the Cardiac Stress Lab, Cath Lab or EP Lab, in accordance with prescribed, delegated medical regimen and UNC Health Southeastern medical center policies. The RN provides patient care based on the nursing process considering the physical and developmental age of the patient in compliance with organizational policy and procedures and North Carolina State Board of Nursing regulations. He/she is responsible for the clinical management of assigned patients, management of patients performing pharmacologic stress test, treadmill exercise stress test, and stress echo, and proficient in correct application and management of heart monitors. The RN will work in conjunction with the Nuclear medicine team to perform efficient, high quality nuclear stress testing. The RN provides direction and supervision to the LPN, NA, and unit clerical staff to insure safe and efficient patient care by coordination of the patient care team. The RN maintains current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Stress lab nurse will need a minimum of 1 year experience in Clinical nursing. Incumbent will be required to attain BCLS and ACLS certification within 3 months of hire; recertification required as per American Heart Association. Must be proficient in keyboard operations and basic computer applications.
Preferred: BSN and specialty certification. EPIC experience. Stress Lab, Cath Lab, EP Lab, and/or Critical Care work experience
