About Us:
IMC Electrical provides electrical installation services for private and public facilities, with experience in multifamily and commercial projects. Headquartered in Northeast Florida, we focus on delivering practical, cost-effective solutions while maintaining solid standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Role Overview:
As the Electrical Preconstruction Manager, you will lead the estimating, budgeting, design-assist, and preconstruction efforts for electrical construction projects across multifamily, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. You will play a critical role in securing new business opportunities and setting projects up for success by providing accurate estimates, strategic planning, value engineering solutions, and seamless transitions from preconstruction to operations.

Working closely with clients, developers, general contractors, design teams, and internal operations leadership, you will oversee all aspects of the preconstruction process, ensuring proposals are competitive, comprehensive, and aligned with project objectives. This role serves as a key bridge between business development, estimating, and project execution teams. This role reports directly to the President of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all preconstruction activities from project pursuit through turnover to
operations.
• Review drawings, specifications, conceptual designs, and project requirements
to develop accurate cost estimates and budgets.
• Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, design-development, and construction
document estimates.
• Manage bid strategy development, scope analysis, risk assessments, and
proposal preparation.
• Coordinate and lead project takeoffs, labor analysis, material pricing, and
subcontractor solicitation.
• Evaluate bid documents and identify scope gaps, exclusions, clarifications, and
potential risks.
• Collaborate with owners, developers, architects, engineers, and general
contractors during design and budgeting phases.
• Develop and present value engineering recommendations that improve
constructability, cost efficiency, and project performance.
• Participate in design-assist and design-build project delivery processes.
• Support contract reviews and ensure alignment between awarded scope and
estimate assumptions.
• Lead project handoff meetings with Project Managers and Operations teams to
ensure successful project startup.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors,
and industry partners.
• Monitor market trends, labor rates, material pricing, and industry developments
to maintain estimating accuracy.
• Develop and maintain estimating standards, databases, historical cost
information, and best practices.
• Mentor and support estimators to enhance team performance and professional
growth.

Required Skills and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a
related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and
relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of three (3) years of electrical estimating, preconstruction, project
management, or related construction experience
• Experience with multifamily, commercial, and/or industrial projects preferred
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC requirements, and construction
means and methods
• Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick,
Trimble, or similar platforms preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and
PowerPoint
• Experience with construction management software such as Procore,
Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BuildingConnected, or similar
platforms preferred
• Electrical License, Journeyman License, or equivalent industry certifications are
a plus

Capabilities:
• Advanced knowledge of electrical construction methods, systems, materials,
and labor productivity.
• Strong understanding of commercial, multifamily, and industrial construction
projects.
• Expertise in conceptual estimating, budgeting, value engineering, and cost
analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, BIM models, and
contract documents.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to assess project risk and profitability.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions:
• Primarily office-based with periodic visits to active construction sites
• Extended use of computers, estimating software, and digital construction
documents
• Occasional travel for client meetings, project sites, and preconstruction
coordination
