About the Position
The Organizational Design Specialist partners with HR leadership and business leaders to design, evaluate, and maintain job architecture, organizational structures, and job description standards across ArchKey Solutions, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations. This role provides subject matter expertise in job leveling, job family structures, and organizational design methodology to support workforce planning, compensation alignment, and organizational effectiveness.
Day in the Life
- Partners with business leaders and HR Business Partners to analyze, design, and document organizational structures that support current and future business needs.
- Develops, reviews, and maintains job descriptions in accordance with the Company's standardized JD template, ensuring consistency in format, content, and job leveling across the organization.
- Applies ArchKey's job leveling framework (Levels A through F) to evaluate new and existing roles, ensuring alignment between job responsibilities, FLSA classification, and the compensation structure.
- Collaborates with the Compensation team to submit job data for pricing and market benchmarking, and helps maintain the integrity of the job family career ladder.
- Facilitates job description review sessions with leaders and incumbents to validate essential functions and identify gaps between documented and actual role responsibilities.
- Maintains job architecture system records (e.g., Payfactors), ensuring job codes, job families, and job levels remain current and audit ready.
- Advises leaders on distinguishing essential job functions from task-based duties to support ADA compliance and maintain flexibility as roles evolve.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline job titles and eliminate duplicate or overlapping roles across the organization.
- Supports organizational design projects related to restructuring, acquisitions, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
- Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
- Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and
providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in organizational design, job architecture, compensation, or a related HR generalist role, preferably within a construction, engineering, or field-services environment.
- Working knowledge of job evaluation and leveling methodologies; experience with Payfactors or a similar job architecture/compensation platform preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate organizational structure and job content into clear, compliant job descriptions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions with leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); HRIS experience preferred.
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required.
Salary Range
- $74,600- $104,400 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
