Cloud and Health AI FinOps and Technology Value Optimization

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud and Health AI FinOps and Technology Value Optimization based in United States.

This senior leadership role will build and lead a Cloud and AI FinOps and Technology Value Optimization capability serving healthcare provider organizations. You will oversee a portfolio of concurrent engagements, combining delivery leadership, commercial accountability, and practice development. The role focuses on helping health systems understand, govern, and optimize the financial impact of cloud, AI, data platforms, and technology investments. You will advise CFOs, CIOs, and Chief Data and AI Officers while translating complex technology economics into actionable executive decisions. The role also connects FinOps, application rationalization, cloud operating models, and organizational change management into scalable transformation programs. With significant autonomy and revenue ownership, the position offers a strong path toward Partner-level responsibility.

Accountabilities:

Lead a portfolio of cloud and AI FinOps, rationalization, and technology value optimization engagements while building a scalable consulting capability.

  • Own delivery quality, scope, margin, staffing, risk, client satisfaction, and commercial performance across multiple concurrent engagements.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to CFOs, CIOs, Chief Data and AI Officers, and executive governance committees, translating analysis into decisions and funded initiatives.
  • Shape high-impact executive and board-level deliverables, ensuring recommendations are clear, defensible, and actionable.
  • Balance strategic advisory work with hands-on execution when client capacity requires direct team involvement.
  • Establish durable FinOps capabilities covering consumption baselines, cost allocation, unit economics, forecasting, anomaly management, showback, chargeback, and value realization.
  • Advise on cloud enterprise agreements and commitment strategies, including reservations, savings plans, right-sizing, commitment sizing, and consumption risk.
  • Develop approaches for managing AI and analytics economics, including GPU and inference costs, data-platform consumption, model and token attribution, and shared-service allocation.
  • Design cloud operating models with Cloud Center of Excellence structures, intake workflows, tagging standards, automation, decision rights, policy guardrails, and recurring cost governance.
  • Oversee automation, telemetry, reporting, and BI solutions so clients receive functioning cost-management capabilities rather than static assessments.
  • Lead application and workload rationalization, including portfolio segmentation, cloud candidacy, workload placement, disposition decisions, migration sequencing, and supporting business cases.
  • Extend rationalization practices to AI estates by assessing redundant models, pilots, copilots, and point solutions and identifying opportunities to reduce cost and risk.
  • Quantify opportunities related to run-rate reduction, licensing and contract optimization, technical debt retirement, and reinvestment capacity.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, data, and other stakeholders to account for healthcare-specific regulatory, interoperability, retention, and risk requirements.
  • Direct organizational change management workstreams, including stakeholder analysis, communications, change networks, training, readiness, and adoption measurement.
  • Ensure new operating models and governance practices are adopted and sustained across client organizations.
  • Originate and close new and follow-on business through scoping, pricing, proposals, presentations, and executive relationship management.
  • Develop reusable methodologies, accelerators, maturity models, benchmarks, and pricing approaches that support a repeatable practice.
  • Represent the practice through thought leadership, conferences, client roundtables, and relationships with hyperscaler and technology platform partners.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and performance-manage consultants across FinOps, cloud engineering, application portfolio, and change management disciplines.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines senior technology consulting leadership with deep expertise in cloud economics, FinOps, technology optimization, healthcare transformation, and commercial growth.

  • 7+ years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Background in technology consulting, cloud and technology financial management, or technology transformation.
  • Senior engagement leadership experience with accountability for delivery outcomes and commercial performance.

  • Expertise in enterprise agreements, commitment constructs, reservations, savings plans, native cost-management tools, tagging, policy enforcement, and shared-service allocation.
  • Proven experience establishing sustainable FinOps capabilities aligned with recognized frameworks across inform, optimize, and operate domains.
  • Substantial experience in application portfolio rationalization, workload placement, technology cost reduction, disposition frameworks, business-case development, and executive decision governance.
  • Working knowledge of AI and data-platform economics, including analytics consumption, GPU and inference costs, and shared AI and analytics service attribution.
  • Experience integrating organizational change management into major technology programs, including adoption measurement and executive stakeholder management.
  • Proven sales and business-development capability spanning origination, scoping, pricing, proposal leadership, and closing, with measurable revenue impact.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to advise C-suite healthcare leaders on difficult findings involving cost exposure, governance weaknesses, and business-case assumptions.
  • Experience with academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, or other healthcare provider organizations is preferred.
