This position will be based at or near a Regional ArchKey office or project within a specific market.

About the Internship

Our summer internship program gives students the opportunity to learn about the electrical construction industry while gaining hands-on, real-world experience before graduation.

As an Electrical Design Intern, youll work alongside experienced designers, BIM specialists, project managers, and other team members to support active electrical construction projects. Youll gain exposure to Building Information Modeling (BIM), electrical design, 2D and 3D modeling, and the development of construction documents used by our field teams.

What You'll Do

• Assist design teams with modeling, coordination, clash detection, and drawing annotation.
• Support the development of constructible 3D models and detailed electrical installation drawings.
• Perform 2D and 3D drafting using programs such as Revit.
• Help gather and coordinate information from other design disciplines to keep projects moving forward.
• Assist with conceptual designs, sketches, and value engineering ideas.
• Help prepare calculations, specifications, cable pull schedules, reports, and other project documentation.
• Work with project managers and design teams to develop construction installation drawings from contract documents.
• Gain exposure to the electrical construction process and how design information is translated into work performed in the field.

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Construction Management, Engineering, Design, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Autodesk, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Basic ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, or specifications is preferred.
• Strong interest in learning more about electrical design and construction.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
