Nurse Practitioner

Neurology Advanced Practice Provider

York Hospital, an independent community hospital in the charming, seaside town of York, Maine, is seeking a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant. York Hospital is well- respected for clinical excellence and industry leading patient experience. We are looking for provider with at least three years of experience in Neurology to join our Team!

We offer a full array of supporting services in a comfortable, caring environment. A dedicated team of comprised of a nurse, medical assistant and administrative staff support the Neurology service. Our culture encourages strong, collegial relationships across all levels of staff.

York Hospital

  • 48 Adult Medicine Beds: 5 Maternity, 5 ICU
  • Outpatient community clinic setting
  • Strong Primary Care and specialty services
  • Minimal inpatient services responsibility
  • Tele Neurology and Tele Stroke via Mass General Hospital Affiliation

Position Attributes

    • Full-time, hospital employed
    • Competitive salary and excellent benefits
    • Outpatient Monday–Friday, 5 days/week including administrative time

Candidate Requirements

    • License to practice as an Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Maine or licensed board-certified Physician Assistant in the state of Maine.
    • Must have current, unrestricted, Maine licensure in progress and be active on date of hire
    • Current, unrestricted federal and, as needed, state prescriptive authority
    • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial
    • The PA or NP under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for the following:
  • Performs physician examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic urologic conditions.
  • Performs some in-office procedures
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, routine laboratory, e-ray etc..
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed.
  • Collaborates with physicians and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients
