  • Qualifications & Experience:

    • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience with comprehensive knowledge of operating a busy Indian restaurant kitchen.

    • Must be currently residing in Australia.

    Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Plan, cost, and prepare menus in consultation with the Restaurant Manager.

    • Prepare a variety of dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts.

    • Stay informed about trends and changes in the hospitality industry.

    • Adhere to food health and safety guidelines.

    • Implement systems, conduct stock takes, and place orders with vendors.

    • Develop waste management strategies and train staff on food health and safety.

    • Manage purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget and availability.

    • Ensure the freshness of food and ingredients at all times.

    • Prepare food according to recipes and continually seek to improve the menu.

    • Review finished products for quality and presentation before serving to guests.

    • Motivate, develop, and train staff, selecting the best candidates for each role.

    • Prepare weekly rosters for the entire kitchen staff.

    • Guide kitchen staff, set performance standards, and monitor performance.

    • Encourage and support team members to build trust, respect, and cooperation.

    • Prepare monthly reports on sales and expenditures of the kitchen department and submit them to the Restaurant Manager.

    • Ensure all delivery orders meet the highest standards to encourage repeat business.
