Job Summary

The Director of Internal IT will oversee Allia Health Group’s global internal IT infrastructure, systems, and employee technology operations. Reporting jointly to the CTO and CFO, this role ensures the secure, compliant, and efficient operation of the company’s technology ecosystem — distinct from, yet collaborative with, the Cloud and Security teams. The Director will lead internal IT strategy, procurement, and employee lifecycle management (onboarding/offboarding), driving automation, compliance, and operational excellence through technology.

This role is both strategic and operational — responsible for designing and executing IT policies, ensuring SOC2/HIPAA compliance, optimizing technology procurement and access management, and establishing a culture of security and efficiency across all internal systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee internal IT operations across corporate offices, remote environments, and pharmacy locations.

  • Manage all equipment procurement and provisioning for in-office, remote, and pharmacy teams.

  • Develop and manage internal IT policies, procedures, and documentation for consistency and compliance.

  • Oversee all connectivity for offices and pharmacies; collaborate with Cloud & Security teams to manage secure access for remote workers.

  • Partner with HR and Finance to automate global onboarding and offboarding processes leveraging AI and automation tools.

  • Centralize and manage procurement for all IT and SaaS tools; establish cross-functional purchasing processes with Finance and HR.

  • Collaborate with the Cloud & Security teams to ensure:

    • All employee devices access networks via secured VPNs;

    • SSO is enabled for all tools;

    • Centralized access management ensures SOC2, HIPAA, and Data Privacy compliance.

  • Manage and unify Google Workspace environments into a single organizational domain.

  • Establish compliance processes, training, and audits for SOC2, HIPAA, Data Privacy, and related frameworks.

  • Develop IT budget forecasts, cost-benefit analyses, and vendor contracts.

  • Build and mentor a small internal IT team as business needs evolve.

  • Serve as point of escalation for major IT issues and ensure reliable global IT support coverage.

  • Work closely with Cloud and Security leadership to ensure seamless alignment on shared systems and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Ideal Degree(s): Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (MS preferred)

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience managing internal IT infrastructure and operations in a multi-site or distributed environment.

  • Must-Have:

    • Proven track record of managing internal IT and technology operations.

    • Deep knowledge of IT systems administration (Google Workspace, networks, device management).

  • Experience implementing SOC2, HIPAA, and Data Privacy compliance programs.

  • Strong understanding of VPN, SSO, and access management solutions.

  • Experience in the health care industry.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with HR, Finance, and Technology leaders.

  • Strong project management and vendor management capabilities.

  • Managing IT teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Google Cloud; Office 365, Google Workspace, VPN tools, Soc2 Tools.
