Speech-Language Pathologist

Overview:
UR Jones Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time dedicated and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic and experienced rehabilitation department. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by evaluating and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Perform modified barium swallow studies (preferred, but willing to train if needed).
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital and medical standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care.
• Supervise and mentor non-certified personnel, support staff, and speech-language pathology students in clinical practicum.
• Participate in hospital-wide and departmental quality management programs, identifying opportunities for patient care improvement.
• Ensure adherence to all hospital policies, Medical Staff Bylaws, and professional regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and remain current on industry best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Licensure & Certification:
  • Valid New York State Speech-Language Pathology license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred).
• Experience: Previous experience in performing modified barium swallow studies is preferred. Training will be provided if needed.
• Skills: Strong diagnostic, therapeutic, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare setting; commitment to patient-centered care.
