By collaborating with a diverse network of experienced behavioral healthcare providers, we have built a community-based care system that offers members personalized options tailored to their individual needs. In 2023, we rebranded as NovumHealth with the expansion of our services in Arizona, California, and Utah.
Position: Mental Health Technician
Schedule: Per Diem position.
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $20 per hour
The starting salary range for this role is a reasonable estimate, with a goal to pay a competitive market salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education and certification, skills, and internal pay equity.
What’s the role?
As a Mental Health Technician at NovumHealth, your primary purpose is to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with mental health disorders. You will play a crucial role in assisting with the implementation of treatment plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, and facilitating therapeutic activities to promote their recovery.
What you’ll do:
•Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with behavioral health needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
•Welcome and engage individuals visiting the support center, establishing a trusting and supportive relationship.
•Provide empathetic and non-judgmental support to individuals contacting the support center seeking behavioral health assistance.
•Facilitate therapeutic activities and interventions, such as group discussions, recreational programs, and life skills training.
•Monitor and document clients' progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions.
•Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement comprehensive support plans.
•Offer emotional support and crisis intervention as needed, maintaining a calm and therapeutic environment.
•Advocate for clients' rights, needs, and preferences, ensuring a person-centered approach to care.
•Additional duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
•Compassionate and empathetic approach in working with individuals with behavioral health needs.
•Active listening skills and ability to create a safe and non-judgmental environment.
•Knowledge of behavioral health conditions, symptoms, and available treatment options.
•Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships.
•Understanding of crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies.
•Familiarity with community resources and referral systems.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
•Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
•Strong organizational and documentation skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
What you’ll need to start:
•Entry-level position, no prior experience required.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Must pass drug screening and background check in order to start employment with Novum Health.
•Must be willing to receive vaccinations in accordance with hospital and state requirements.
What will make you stand out:
•Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services field.
•Previous work or volunteer experience in a community setting.
