POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for processing member loans and credit card applications received by phone, mail or in person. Also has responsibility to approve loans in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors and under the guidelines of authority delegated by the Credit Manager. May be called on to approve loans that fall outside Loan Officer approval authority.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to operate a Windows based computer system. Knowledge of the fundamentals of lending and collection concepts and practices. Thorough understanding of loan policies and procedures. Knowledge of all Credit Union products and services. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be bondable.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review loans, credit card applications and extension agreements being submitted to the Credit Manager for approval/rejection. Make a brief written comment concerning referral.Serve as processor of Equity-Loans, 1st Mortgage Loans and other Mortgage Loans.
  • Handle telephone inquiries.
  • Work with members, closing agents, appraisers, surveyors, and realtors to facilitate loan approvals and closing on a timely basis.
  • Provide accurate, up to date information regarding Equity-Loans, 1st Mortgage Loans and other Mortgage Loans.
  • Provide exceptional member service by effectively matching member needs with Credit Union products. Consistently achieve established goals for lending products.
  • Must be willing and capable of effectively promoting lending products and services. Responsible for the initiation, processing, and closing of all consumer loans, credit cards, and Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs).
  • Ensure timely delivery of electronic copies of loan documents to borrowers for closings.
  • Disburse approved loans or forward approved credit card applications to Card Services for processing. Provide clear and detailed explanations of all Credit Union products and services.
  • Promptly respond to phone and email inquiries regarding loans, blue book values, transfers, line releases, and other related topics. Effectively cross-sell Credit Union services and refer members to other departments as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the loan process between members, dealers, and branches. Available to work off-site lending events as needed. Assist members in resolving loan-related issues promptly and effectively. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of membership eligibility, procedures, and fees for opening new accounts.
  • Stay informed about all Credit Union products and procedural changes. Conduct thorough account research and resolve issues related to loans, account transactions, and ACH/Payroll matters.
  • Required to obtain State of Florida licensing to sell all forms of payment protection. Required to obtain Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) license to originate mortgage loan application.
  • Is required to follow policies and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the USA Patriot Act, Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD). Understands that failure to comply with these requirements may be subject to strong disciplinary action, up to and including termination by the Credit Union, as well as civil and criminal penalties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a standard computer. HOURS

The hours of this job are standard and related to the needs of the membership and business flow. General hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, although hours may change based on department needs.
